Health Headline: Children whose mothers took acid blocking drugs during pregnancy have a 51 percent increase in the likelihood of developing asthma.

Weight Loss Headline: About a third of all cancers are attributed to smoking, a third to poor diet and lack of exercise and the rest to other factors and genetics. Stop smoking and start eating a healthy diet and exercising now to prevent cancer later.

Weight Loss Headline: A French study showed that older women who drank at least three cups of tea per day had less plaque in their carotid arteries. Green tea also helps weight loss so drink it to get a two fold effect. Read about The Benefits of Green Tea.

Health Headline:  Visceral fat linked to heart attacks and strokes. Mice with visceral fat developed hardening of the arteries faster than normal. Visceral fat is fat deep in the abdomen rather than just under the skin. If you have a pot belly or beer belly you have visceral fat. This kind of fat is associated with insulin resistance. Weight Loss Headline: A new study of 15,660 men showed that brisk walking 30 minutes a day for 4 to 5 days reduced their risk of death from all causes. Fitness level rather than age, blood pressure or body mass index reduced the chances of early death by 20 to 70 percent. Weight Loss Headline: The fact that the Mormons' fast one day a month is the reason they have a reduced risk of heart disease. The study showed that people who regularly fast are less likely to have clogged arteries than others who do not fast. Fasting also forces the body burn fat. Periodically abstaining from food reduces the body's exposure to sugar and consequently to insulin.

Weight Loss Headline: According to The Center For Disease Control and Prevention 33% of the men and 35% of the women in the US are obese.  This is up from 15% in 1980. Let's hope we can reverse this trend. Of special note childhood obesity rates have tripled since 1970.

Weight Loss Headline: Add at least 14 years to your life by doing these four simple things.
1.  Don't smoke
2.  Eat 5 servings fruits and vegetables a day
3.  Exercise
4.  Drink in moderation
Adopting any one of these will make a significant difference in your life but adopting all four will make the most difference.

Weight Loss Headline: Children of women who ate a Mediterranean type diet, a diet rich in vegetables and fruit while pregnant are less likely to develop asthma or allergies. The participants ate fish more than three times a week and ate vegetables more than eight times a week.
